Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Sparkle for?
Sparkle is built for independent house cleaners, maid services, and small commercial cleaning companies — from solo operators up to multi-crew teams. If you quote, schedule, and manage recurring cleaning jobs, Sparkle is for you.
Do my customers need to download an app?
No. The customer portal is a web app at my.getsparkleapp.com. Your clients sign in with their email — no app store download required. They can view upcoming visits, send messages, request bookings, and pay online.
How does the free trial work?
Every new account starts with a 30-day trial on any plan. A credit or debit card is required upfront. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, billing begins automatically on the plan you selected. You can change plans at any time during or after the trial.
Can I change plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from the Billing settings in the staff app at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What happens when I cancel?
You keep full access until the end of your current paid month — no prorating. After cancellation, your data is retained for 90 days so you can reactivate. After that, it is permanently deleted. You can export your data at any time before deletion.
How does pricing for my clients' cleans work vs. the Sparkle subscription?
The Sparkle subscription ($39–$129/mo) is what you pay to use the platform. The per-visit prices you see in the quoting tool are what you charge your clients — those are your rates based on your pricing configuration. Sparkle does not take a cut of your client payments.
How do online payments work?
Sparkle uses Stripe Connect. Your clients pay you directly — funds go to your Stripe account. Sparkle never holds your money. Standard Stripe processing fees apply (set by Stripe, not Sparkle).
Is my data secure?
Yes. All connections use TLS encryption. Your data is stored with encryption at rest, and row-level security ensures each business can only access its own records. We use role-based access controls so your cleaners see only what they need. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Contact support@getsparkleapp.com to request an export of your clients, properties, schedules, and service history at any time.
I'm currently on spreadsheets / another tool. How do I switch?
Sign up and add your first few clients in the Sparkle app. The intake form generates a shareable link so new clients can submit their own details. Contact support if you need help importing existing data.
